I really don’t know how to begin the description for this lady! The most energetic, jovial, gregarious, fun loving person I have ever met. She taught me how to be OK even if everything was not OK. A simple rule I not only apply to diving but also to my life now.
I met Tamara in July 2012 while doing my OWD at Tioman Islands, Malaysia. I had big time water phobia back then and was not quite sure why I was diving! I was not a great swimmer but at the same time – loved being in water. I was quite lucky to have Tamara as my dive instructor because I could trust her completely with my life under water! May sound a bit dramatic when I say life – but doing the “regulator removal” exercise and “CESA” underwater was the toughest thing I have ever done in my life because of my Water Phobia.
Tamara infused so much energy and enthusiasm into my OWD experience that I not only fell in love with the sea and diving but also took up diving as a serious hobby and career option. I now have 40 dives under my belt and am a rescue and National Geographic certified diver myself! I was recently covered in Indian media on woman’s day for my work in the field of diving and other business. The credit for this goes to Tamara and Orpheus dive! And I thank both of them immensely!
When I look back at those days – I think if it was’t for Tamara – I wouldn’t have taken diving seriously. Tamara not only brings alot of positive energy to her work but is also very detailed and has commendable knowledge of the marine world. She can identify rare fishes and corals even in her dreams! When she leads a team – she leads it like a real commando 🙂 making sure the navigation and mapping is right, all safety precautions and briefings are done and understood correctly, and best – she keeps a good “eye” on everyone, giving personalised attention is very important in diving – which she does perfectly!
She understood the nervousness of all of us while we did the OWD skills@ 100 feet under water and kept the spirits up by making sure she constantly made eye contacts with all of us and assured we were all OK! I remember we even did a little dance under water and “hi fis” once we completed all the OWD skills! She is a true champion and a leader!
All the Best to Tamara for all her future engagements!

Wow, I’m blushing after reading that. I’m grateful to have had the chance to dive with Sarita, she’s gone on to some pretty outstanding adventures! Check out this article about her.
